Are we talking innawoods, shtf, or what? There was a great article written by a guy who survived the fall of I forgot which country that details how he and others survived. Turning neighborhoods into blockades, which skills got you fed, the unfortunate reality for what it took for single women to survive.

I think the bottom line is the only currency that counts is what you can part with and what the person wants.

/Phil/ is for lifestyle and hobbies, so /k/ threads should go here. No worries, just fyi.

None of that bullshit is essential.

What's essential is, in order:

1. clothing

Proper clothing for your climate. That means wool in the cold north (where white people live) and silk in hot climates (where only niggers and sand niggers live), and yes silk is the best for hot climates and always will be because of its unique structural and chemical properties, you'll need polyester outer lining if it rains a lot though since it can't be applied with water resistant coatings. LAYERS FAGGIT, if it's cold wear layers of wool>more wool>poly+down.

2. Knife

You want a real knife nigger, just fucking get a knife. Most important thing is balance and having a full tang, anything else is dependent on situation and needs. You want a nice whetstone and some oil too.

3. Rope

Rope. Buy rope. The more rope you have the better. Make caches of rope across the forests, the plains, the deserts. Store rope in attics, basements, in the trees. Rope is the currency of the future, rope is the essence of life. With 10,000 feet of rope you will be the king of your nation if it collapses, you will be a living god. Rope is life, rope is king, buy rope now. Coincidentally rope is also very good for executing people when time is of the essence, all fucking niggers must hang.

Nothing else is truly essential. Water can be made potable using pure silver but only in countries with relatively clean water, it'll kill the bacteria and shit but if there are pollutants in the water you can easily make a purifier out of charcoal, sand, rocks and whatever, basic survival knowledge.

Honestly if you can't survive with just a knife and rope you deserve to die in your fantasy SHTF scenario, the weak must fear the strong.
>b-buh what about muh gun
A firearm is extra weight. You need to carry ammunition, oil (>not cleaning and oiling your gun after every use enjoy a corroded barrel faggot ISHYGDDT), and maintenance tools. The weapon becomes useless without ammunition so unless you already have caches spaced in a large grid in a large area your mobility is decreased as you have to stay in one place, which is fucking retarded in any survival situation. So tl;dr, if you want to carry a gun around in a survival situation make waterproof ammo caches with moisture absorbant inside and bury/hang with rope in trees and shit/submerse in water them, hide them so people can't find them, spread them out in a grid pattern as large as the mobility you want.

Everything else is wet dream "muh happeding" memes, survival is not a meme we've been doing it for thousands of years just fine.

/Phil/ is for philosophy, but also education, lifestyle, and hobbies. So /k/, /fit/, /tech/, etc threads could all go here.

This board was actually created because I wanted a board for /k/ (and also /fit/), but didn't want to just name it /k/. Then I realized I also needed a philosophy board, and figured it could fit in here.
