Additionally, if someone's using TOR, they wouldn't be able to show their host country's flag if it was IP based.
Now on an unrelated note, I think that we should have another board for small-state/provincial or local politics. That could be filled with threads from each province/state so we can get involved at local levels, redpilling/improving our communities.
This board /nat/ is great, but it's only really useful for Europe and South America, which are filled with several small-state countries.
There is enough regional divide in both culture and state-driven politics in the US and Canada for the two to nearly be considered federations. Plus, I'm sure nobody wants /nat/ to get shat up with 50 possible US State Threads + 10 possible Canadian Province Threads.
Regional politics in super-states like the US and Canada can have just as much impact as national politics in Europe, especially when those 2 countries alone make up nearly 20% of the internet community.
